This is Why we do what we do.....
Being a CASA can often times be hard work, however very rewarding. In Laramie County we currently have 188 children in our court system as a result of abuse and or neglect. The majority of our cases are due to neglect that is associated with the use of Methamphetamies. Our 64 volunteer advocates give their time, their hearts and their voices to these children. Why you might ask? Below is a quote from one of our advocates who recently had to resign after 5 years to take care of her husband.
“Being a CASA has enriched my life. It has not always been fun or joyful but I have loved getting to know my kids and always enjoyed spending time with them. It has been difficult seeing how others have affected their innocent little lives, and I’ve said many prayers for them. I’ll always remember and have hope for each one. It has been has been wonderful working with everyone involved in these cases.
